As we mentioned in our retrospective, we’ve had many new additions to our team in 2018. And, by the end of this year, we’re expecting twice as many new talents joining Poatek!
With these exciting new changes, we realize the importance of people management to maintain a sustainable work environment that helps develop our employees professionally and personally. And that’s where Laura, our new Head of People, comes in.
Laura Tonon Zuanazzi has an amazing background with talent management that starts as an intern at Dell: “I had a very rich experience with typical HR processes, participating in climate research and individual conversations with team managers”, she explains. After her time at Dell, she flew to Germany for a one-year academic internship and, after that, spent an additional six months in Spain.
After transitioning in other areas while finishing her studies at grad school, Laura then joined Group RBS, one of the largest media conglomerates in south Brazil. “That’s when I fell in love with HR all over again!”, she adds. Shortly after being promoted as a recruiter at RBS, Laura became HRBP and was responsible not only for talent acquisition, but for more complex and elaborated HR strategies focused on team productivity.
In 2015, she joined SBTur, a Brazilian tourism company. Shortly after taking the job as HR Manager in Porto Alegre, Laura was transferred to Florianopolis, in the state of Santa Catarina, to become Customer Success Manager. Within a short time, she became Operations Director at SBTur, managing a team of over 55 employees.
“There’s one thing I know I’m good at: people. I want to help people develop themselves so they can reach their highest potential”, says Laura.
“What first had my attention at Poatek was the possibility to innovate with people strategies without having to go through extensive processes”, says Laura. She adds that talent management should help develop colleagues so they can achieve and fulfill their aspirations.
For Laura, aligning talent management to business is a fundamental action for positive outcomes. “I need to understand every step of talent management so I can identify how certain strategies impact the final results”, she adds.
As a company, we’re well aware of the importance of people development. We’re certain Laura will be a great addition to our team!
