Welcome, Poatekers!
8 new Poatekers joined our team last month, meet them:
Arthur Foscarini is our new front-end software engineer. His academic background in computer science, which he studied at UFRGS. Before joining our team, he worked for one and a half years at ADP, in Porto Alegre, and for the last 3 years, I worked at HP Inc. So far, Arthur has been enjoying a lot his time at Poatek. He said that the environment and the culture are great, and his colleagues are always available to help, which makes things much easier for those starting at the company, especially coming from companies with a different culture. Also, his expectations for the future at Poatek are to be able to learn and to grow with the company. Once he believes there is always room for improvement in every area of our lives, and Poatek is a great place for him to grow personally and professionally.
Dominique Diehl is responsible for taking care of employee experience & culture at Poatek. Holding a bachelor’s degree in human resources management and an MBA in innovation management, she already has 10 years working in HR positions, having worked with recruitment, organizational culture, and employee journey. Monique told us that he found at Poatek a company with a unique culture, with welcoming people. Her expectations for working here are to strengthen the relationship between Poatekers and HR to make their experience even better and strengthening our culture.
Felipe Wurch joined our data science team. He is currently studying computer science and Uniritter, but has already an experience as an intern at Neogrid, working mostly with data engineering tasks in a big data environment. For him Poatek is a company that trusts its employees, there is no micromanagement, and this makes the environment very comfortable to work on. For the future, he expects he knows that he is in a very qualified team, where he feels that he has a lot to learn from his colleagues and to learn as much as he can in this fast-paced environment.
Gabriel Prado is also joining our data science team! Holder of a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from UFRGS and aiming to pursue a Master’s in ML and Computer Vision in the near future, Gabriel has already worked for about 3 years as an intern and mechanical engineer while working with numerical simulations regarding mechanical structures and discrete particle flow of agricultural machines. What draws him to Poatek the most is the kind of challenges he faces on a daily basis, and further improving himself. About his expectations for the future, he said: “I expect to keep learning and improving myself and being even more part of Poatek’s internal projects and opportunities, such as research groups, being an intern’s mentor, or even presenting a KT.”
Lorenzo Millani is our brand-new software engineer! Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at UFRGS, he has already had 2 internships before joining Poatek. The first was at Banco do Rio Grande do Sul, working as a Back-end intern, and another at Dell where he was working with automation for incident resolution. So fat, he found the experience at Poatek great, where he was very well welcomed and he has the possibility to be in close contact with the clients, making this experience unique for him. About his expectations for the future working here, he hopes the company will keep delivering great software and growing so he can keep growing along with it.
Rafael Medeiros is another great talent joining our data science team! Holding a bachelor’s degree in computer science from UFPel and a master’s degree and Ph.D. also in computer science from UFRGS, he accounts already 4 years of experience as a software developer, mostly working in machine learning and computer vision projects at small startups. So far Rafael found at Poatek fun people and cool projects! He is loving the chill vibe and the excitement people have about the products we are building! In the future, he hopes to work on challenging problems and try innovative solutions for them.
Stephania Vellinho is our new financial analyst. Holder of a bachelor’s degree in economics from UFRGS, she has a background in the financial market, macroeconomics research, and data science. So far, she thinks that Poatek is a great place to learn and develop in what you are interested in. And about her expectations about the future working at Poatek Stephania said: “Since the beginning, I’ve had always a great sense of belonging here, people are great and the day-to-day is amazing.”
Vithor dos Santos just joined our mobile software engineer team! In his last semester of Health Systems and Services Administration at UERGS, he has been studying programming in Kotlin on his own through some Udacity courses, focusing on a self-learning experience. He has some programming experience in an internship at Gray, as well as working in the Municipal Health Department in an Advisory Sector (ASSEPLA). His thoughts about Poatek so far are that the environment is great for professional growth, and we have a lot of helpful colleagues. For the future here he intends to get more experience in the area, working through continuous practice and colleague interaction.
